Gibson Biddle was VP of Product at Netflix starting in 2005, then in 2010, he became the Chief Product Officer of Chegg, a textbook rental company that went public in 2014.
Today, he’s an adviser for multiple consumer tech companies, and teaches entrepreneurship at Stanford.
Alasdair made the natural segue from studying Medieval History at university to trying to start a string of tech businesses. After a number of false starts, he found product-market fit with Triptease, spear-heading the movement for direct bookings for hotels and solving a hair-on-fire problem for the hospitality industry.
He now leads the Product Engineering team, where his day to day focus is on product strategy, vision, and direction. He’s currently working hard to make himself redundant by finding ways to drive his responsibilities down so that they become an emergent norm from people on the front-line.
Outside of work, it’s probably no surprise he likes do a fair bit of travelling, as well as reading, attempting to cook, listening to music, sleeping through films and lots of other painfully normal activities
